Amitabh Bachchan hits back at trolls

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan is very active on X, and although he previously ignored trolls, he has recently begun to respond with witty comebacks. Just the other day, the actor clapped back at some X users who were mocking him for his cybercrime awareness callertune and labeling him as ‘senile’. Here’s what he had to say.

For those who may not know, the superstar has contributed his voice to a new initiative focused on raising awareness about cybercrime, with the goal of educating the public on digital safety. The caller tune, which plays automatically before phone calls are connected, includes Bachchan cautioning listeners about prevalent cyber threats like phishing, online fraud, and identity theft.

On Monday, Big B took to X (previously known as Twitter) and posted a random tweet that said, “Ji haan huzoor, main bhi ek prashansak hoon. Toh?? (Yes, sir, I’m a fan too. So??).” In response to this tweet, an X user commented, “Toh phone pe bolna band kro bhay (So stop saying it on the phone),” poking fun at the superstar for his cybercrime caller tune. Nevertheless, Big B was not inclined to remain quiet and responded to the troll with a clever comeback, “Sarkar ko bolo bhai, unhone jo kaha humne kar diya (Tell the government, I did what they told me to do).

In response to another X user who commented, “Buddha sathiya gaya hai (The old man has gone senile),” Big B replied, “Ek din, Bhagwan naa kare voh din jaldi aaye, jab aap bhi sathiya jaaye (One day — God forbid it comes soon — you too will grow senile. But we have a saying here: ‘Jo satha, wo patha (The older, the wiser).”

That wasn’t the end of it. When an X user accused him of using marijuana, Amitabh responded cleverly, stating, “Only someone under the influence of weed could write like you just did.” Another X user criticized the actor for his attitude, saying, “Try using some logic; even a calculator doesn’t display this much attitude! Otherwise, my heart has accepted you, but my brain is saying – ‘System Error: Too Much Overthinking Detected!’” In response, Big B remarked, “Even your calculator is saying the same thing about you – overthinking!!!”

Amitabh Bachchan's upcoming movies

Big B received accolades for his portrayal of Ashwatthama in Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi action film Kalki 2898 AD. The actor is set to reprise his role in the sequel, which will feature Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan in prominent roles. The film’s director has announced that production for the sequel will commence in December this year. In addition to this, he has Section 84 in the works, a courtroom drama that also includes Diana Penty and Nimrat Kaur in significant roles. The release date for this film has not yet been revealed.
