Housefull 5 Box Office Collection Day 2: Akshay Kumar's Film Crosses Rs 50 Crore
Housefull 5, starring Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh, had a strong start at the domestic box office, earning Rs 54 crore in two days. With multiple underperformers behind him, Housefull 5 can be a potential turning point for Akshay Kumar’s box office journey.
In comparison to Akshay’s latest films, the expectations are much greater. Kesari 2 debuted with Rs 7.75 crore and concluded its run at Rs 92 crore, whereas Khel Khel Mein, which faced off against Vedaa and Stree 2, started with only Rs 5 crore. If the early forecasts are accurate, Housefull 5 is set to surpass both. The film is being shown extensively, with more than 5,000 screens worldwide. Major multiplex chains are said to be hosting as many as 18-20 shows each day, and some cinemas are screening it 21 times a day. With a reported budget of Rs 225 crore, distributors believe the film will need to generate approximately Rs 450 crore to break even. Housefull 5 has not been released in various languages but features two versions, likely due to technical adjustments or edits.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Warda Nadiadwala, and Firuzi Khan under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
The film features a prominent cast including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, and Soundarya Sharma in leading roles. The supporting cast comprises Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chunky Panday, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjit, Nikitin Dheer, Chitrangda Singh, and Fardeen Khan.
Tarun Mansukhani, who made his directorial debut with Dostana in 2008, makes a return to directing after more than ten years.
