Mahesh’s comments echo the feelings expressed earlier by seasoned screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar, who tweeted following the film’s impressive box office performance on Day 2: “I’m thrilled to hear about the record jump that Sitaare Zameen Par made at the box office on its second day. Talking about the movie, Sitaare Zameen Par, which acts as a spiritual follow-up to the highly praised Taare Zameen Par (2007), is helmed by R.S. Prasanna and brought to life by Aamir Khan Productions. This social-comedy film continues Aamir’s tradition of blending storytelling with social awareness.
Khan stars alongside Genelia Deshmukh and is backed by an impressive cast featuring Dolly Ahluwalia, Gurpal Singh, Brijendra Kala, and Ankita Sehgal.
